Royal Agricultural University

Founded in 1845, the Royal Agricultural University is the oldest agricultural college in the English speaking world. We offer career-focused degrees with global reputations at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The diverse range of subjects includes: Business Management, Agriculture, Equine, Food Security and Agribusiness, International Rural Development and Real Estate and Land Management.
The University has an unrivalled reputation, both in terms of the quality of the teaching and the networking opportunities available. We have strong industry links, reflected in the high caliber of work placements offered to students and the impressive graduate employability rates. On average over the last five years, 97% of RAU graduates have gone into employment or further study within six months of graduating. Courses are taught by experienced staff and specialist consultants, creating an exciting learning environment that combines academic excellence with practical application.
Our campus is steeped in history and tradition and often referred to as the ‘Oxbridge of the Countryside’. We have one of the most beautiful settings in the country with the famous main building styled on an Oxford college. The campus is large enough that all of the facilities are on-site (except the nearby farms), yet small enough to create a friendly atmosphere with a strong sense of community and support network.
Facilities include a library with all core module books, three ICT suites with 24 hour access, labs with modern equipment, new lecture theatres, and a grand dining hall. The Tithe Barn is a 16th century farm building housing the Student Union Bar and the Student Common Room. Sports facilities include a gym, an array of outdoor pitches, tennis courts, a flood-lit Astroturf pitch and a cricket green. The University Farms are easily accessible from the campus and provide students with a field laboratory. The Rural Innovation Centre (opened March 2014) on Harnhill Farm provides a place for leading training and research.

On campus catered accommodation is available for international students providing them with three meals a day seven days a week. Student rooms are located in Halls of Residence on campus and range from shared facilities to en-suite.
International students from 48 different countries are supported by the International Student Support Officer, as well as personal tutors, lecturers and the Student Liaison and Welfare Officers, who help them make the most of their time at the RAU. There is an International Orientation 2 week programme available to students to help in the understanding of English for academic purposes, visit places of interest (e.g. Bath, London, Oxford), and to learn about student life in the UK. There is also the possibility to have English tuition before commencing a degree programme to ensure that students meet the required English criteria, with our partner Wiltshire College.
Based in Cirencester in the heart of the Cotswolds, the RAU has excellent transport links with London (90 mins) and is within a 1 hour drive of Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham and Swindon.
